Have you wondered how humans can often solve immensely difficult and abstract problems; perform complex physical tasks; assess a person's mood within two seconds of meeting; recognize someone from 25 years ago; and, yet, have trouble remembering a phone number for more than 30 seconds? In this presentation, Currey Ingram Head of School Dr. Jeffrey L. Mitchell will highlight the profound impact working memory has on teaching and learning and the ways parents and educators can support students who struggle in this area.
