Signature programs are unique to a Currey Ingram Academy education. They challenge students to explore new interests, and in some cases, provide opportunities for students outside of the school to experience our very intentional and personalized approach to teaching.

Launch Program

A Currey Ingram Postgraduate Program
The Launch Program is designed for students who have graduated high school -- not just from Currey Ingram. We know that some students may not be ready, either academically or social-emotionally, for a full and typical college experience. Providing a transition, or postgraduate year, can help students further develop their academic and social-emotional learning skills needed for college success. This stand-alone program will include coursework to better prepare students for college and career, a leadership course, work experience, outdoor education experience, and dual credit opportunities. There also is an opportunity to participate in the Residential Life program on campus to further develop independent living skills.

Contact Jill Lloyd-Crucini for additional information about the program.

Core Program

The Center for OutReach Education, or CORE, is designed to support students who learn differently beyond the walls of Currey Ingram Academy. It brings the school's signature instruction in a one-on-one format to students who struggle with reading, but do not attend Currey Ingram Academy. With the student's personal academic profile in mind, the programming targets all of the major components of reading, including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Sessions are available during or after school hours, either in-person on Currey Ingram's campus, or online.

The CORE program will launch in the Fall of 2021. Contact the Director of Program Outreach, Regan Humphrey, for more information.

Creative Technology and Esports

The Creative Technology and Esports program offers classes in coding, robotics, broadcasting, and cinematography during the school day and a Varsity esports program afterschool. Housed in the Upper School, the space features state-of-the-art iMac computers and a new green screen.

In the fall of 2020, Currey Ingram launched an esports program as part of the athletics program. The program is the first in the area to be connected with PlayVs, which is endorsed by the NFHS. As a sport through Mustang Athletics, participants not only play online, they have a fitness component embedded in their practice schedule. Esports is one of the world's fastest-growing multiplayer gaming sports that also offers college scholarships and professional-level tournaments.
