Every fall, students, faculty and staff gather to celebrate the philanthropic leadership of John and Stephanie Ingram. This year, the celebration was held outdoors in the quad in conjunction with the Fall Bandfest. In addition to Mr. Ingram, Courtney Blaise from Second Harvest Food Bank participated in the celebration.
Three students shared how Currey Ingram Academy is “giving back” by supporting local and global organizations. Lower school student Jazzy Rose talked about how Lower School students beautify the campus by planting flowers on Earth Day, donating to Second Harvest Food Bank, and collecting hats and mittens for the holiday tree project. Theory Arnold, representing the Middle School, talked about the students work with We Kenya, Feed the Children and Meals on Wheels. Senior Braydon Lamb noted that the Upper School “responded to the call” of giving back by supporting a number of organizations, including Habitat for Humanity.
A highlight of the afternoon was Second Harvest Food Bank’s Courtney Blaise’s announcement of the winners for collecting the most cans for the fall food drive. This year, Currey Ingram donated 4,298 canned and boxed food items to Second Harvest. With this donation, over 4,000 families will be fed throughout the Middle Tennessee area.
The winning House was Edmiston House with, which collected 1,404 cans and received the Spirit of Giving trophy.
In his remarks, Mr. Ingram said, “Think about what matters to you and be intentional about doing more of that, and I hope your intention also includes giving back to others.”

Following the presentations, the Upper School Rock Band kicked off the fall Bandfest featuring songs from 1968 to celebrate Currey Ingram’s 50th anniversary.
