A Day in the Life

Below is a sample day for a student

  • Arrival (7:15-7:45) – Greeted at the door by Dr. Barton and a fourth-grade greeter
  • Early Morning (7:15-7:45) – Early Arriving students go to the Multipurpose Room for quiet games and conversation
  • Morning Announcements (7:45-7:50) – Each student in the Lower School is assigned a day to make the morning announcements and lead the Pledge of Allegiance with the school counselor.
  • Morning Coffee (7:45–8:00) – Students gather in their morning meetings to discuss the day’s agenda & activities, social skills practice and character traits.
  • Math (8:00–9:00) - Third & Fourth Grade
  • Handwriting, Classroom Guidance & Snack (8:00-8:55) – Kdg., First & Second Grade
  • Language Arts (9:05-10:20) – Kdg., First & Second Grade
  • Snack & PE (9:15-10:15) – Third & Fourth Grade
  • Language Arts (10:25-11:55) Third & Fourth Grade
  • Lunch (11:00–12:45)
  • Math (12:30-1:25) Kdg., First & Second Grade
  • Enrichment Classes (Music, Library, Art, Discovery Lab, Technology, Classroom Guidance) / Social Studies & Science/ Recess (1:25-3:10)
  • End of School Day (3:15-3:25) – Fourth Grade Mustang Safety Guards assist teachers as students leave for home
  • Boost (3:15-6:00) – Aftercare Program
  • Afterschool Clubs and Special Activities (3:15…), such as:
    - Study Hall
    - Better Golf for Kids
    - ACES Art Club
    - Running Club
    - Simple Stitches
    - Chess Club
    - French Club
    - Dance Club
    - LEGO Adventure
    - LEGO Robotics
