When children struggle to follow rules, comply with directions, or behave in expected ways, parents often feel frustrated and alone. In “Your Defiant Child: Eight Steps to Better Behavior,” leading child psychologist Dr. Russell Barkley helps parents to understand the roots of defiant behavior and the practical steps they can take to create a more positive relationship with their child. In this three-part study, Dr. Regan Humphrey will lead attendees in an in-depth discussion of Dr. Barkley's book utilizing round-table discussions. Everyone will walk step-by-step through Dr. Barkley's evidence-based model of behavior change, and parents will receive additional resources to help implement the model at home. Although all parents and professionals are welcome, this program is best suited for parents with children who are between five and twelve years old.
