Join Dr. Gregory Fabiano for "Dads: The Important Role You Play in Parenting Your Child or Teen" from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on December 6 in Henderson Auditorium for a presentation on the crucial role that fathers play in the promotion and support of positive mental health for children and teens. Dr. Fabiano will also share possible reasons why fathers may find it challenging to participate in parenting interventions and describe approaches that will allow fathers to become more engaged with their sons and daughters. Dr. Fabiano, Ph.D. is Professor and Associate Dean for Interdisciplinary Research of Counseling, School, and Educational Psychology at the University at Buffalo. His research interests are in ADHD Assessments and Interventions, Parenting Programs, especially for fathers and teen drivers. He is an author on over 40 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Dr. Fabiano has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Hodgson Russ Award for Excellence in Collaboration and the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. In addition, the University of Buffalo has granted him the Exceptional Scholars Young Investigator Award and the Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr. Fabiano's work has been funded by multiple federal agencies including the U.S. Department of Education, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Institutes of Health.
