Scholastic Art Recognitions

Congratulations to two Currey Ingram upper school students who were recognized for the outstanding artwork for the 2018 Middle Tennessee Scholastic Art Competition at Cheekwood.  Amelia Lee received a Silver Key award in photography for her photograph "Above the Wire.” Her work will be displayed at Cheekwood starting February 3. Georgie Bonnette received an honorable mention in drawing/illustration for her self-portrait pencil drawing. The Middle Tennessee Scholastic Art Awards aim to support students’ artistic discoveries and encourage them to seek opportunities to showcase and share their art. In 2017, 1,465 works of art were submitted from 262 area schools, programs and institutions. The Scholastic Art Competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious student art competitions in the country. Cheekwood will celebrate its 27th year as a regional affiliate for the program in 2018, a tradition that has become an invaluable part of its history.
