Currey Ingram Academy recognized and honored members of the Class of 2018 with an Almost Alumni Luncheon on Wednesday, May 16 and the Senior Awards Breakfast on Thursday, May 17. At the luncheon, each senior received a commemorative Currey Ingram keychain to remind them that life is a journey and they hold the key.
For the Senior Awards Breakfast, the morning started with a heartfelt video slideshow featuring photographs of each senior through his or her years of growing up. The video evoked smiles, laughter and a few tears.
For the Perpetual Awards, the following students were honored:
Helen Pandey was awarded the Valedictorian Award for highest cumulative GPA.
Lindsey Phillips was awarded the Salutatorian Award for second highest cumulative GPA.
Myles Cooney received the prestigious Shannon Rose Grady Award which is granted to the student who has, without fail throughout one's entire high school career, exhibited respect as well as kindness to others and in addition, has been punctual, conscientious and trustworthy.
Andrew Parrillo and Lindsey Phillips received the Nancy R. Hill Perseverance Award which is granted to the senior female student and the male student who consistently exhibit dedication, steadfastness, and outstanding work ethic.
Helen Pandey received the Leadership Award, which is presented to the student who demonstrates outstanding leadership skills throughout the school year.
Amelia Lee received the Integrity Award, which is presented to a student who consistently portray outstanding emotional, intellectual, and moral character.
Helen Pandey and Alden Vines received the School Spirit Awards, which are awarded to the female student and the male student who continually demonstrate enthusiastic support for Currey Ingram Academy.
Myles Cooney received the Outstanding Capstone Award which is given to the senior whose Capstone embodies excellence in the scholarly pursuits of researching, writing, and public speaking.
