Commencement: The Remarkable Class of 2019

While an unexpected popup storm and power outage delayed commencement by 20 minutes, it did not dampen the enthusiasm and spirit of over 400 guests who gathered under the tent on the quad to celebrate the graduating Class of 2019. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us.

As is tradition, graduates gave a short speech about their experiences at Currey Ingram Academy, the impact the school has had on them, and their plans for the future. Emotions were appropriately (and touchingly) high. Eliza Harris’s sentiment sums up many of the reflections from graduation, “Currey Ingram has taught me how to be brave, have courage, and be kind to others. I have learned to love myself and be confident in who I am. I have challenged myself to try new things.”

Through their perseverance, dedication, and commitment, our graduates have pushed through challenges and climbed over obstacles on their paths. We have been inspired by each of them. As each rang the senior bell last evening – another Currey Ingram tradition – the sound ushered them into a new chapter of their lives, and we cannot wait to see where the journey takes them.
