When did you attend WSN/CIA? What year did you graduate from WSN/CIA?
I starting attending WSN in 1997. When Currey Ingram was built, I transferred to that campus where I graduated in 2010.

What is your most memorable experience from WSN/CIA?
My most memorable experience was my senior year of high school when Mrs. Elders presented me with the Currey Ingram Academy Most Improved Student Award. In addition, I especially enjoyed playing on three sports teams which included volleyball, basketball, and softball.

What is your current involvement with WSN/CIA?
I keep up with some of my friends, and I try to make it to some of the alumni events; but it can be challenging with my work schedule. I would love to make it to more events as time permits.

What is one piece of advice you would give to current Currey Ingram students and families?
Always strive to get the best education you can, even after you leave Currey Ingram. Be positive and always have a smile on your face!

Please elaborate on your experiences at WSN/CIA and then in college.
At CIA, it was important to me to maintain at least a B average. To do that and also have a busy athletic schedule was trying, but I managed to stay the course.

Upon graduation in 2010, I chose to attend Nashville State Community College. My goal was to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development. With this degree I hoped to further my education as a preschool teacher. While at school, I continued to work part-time at the Gordon Jewish Community Center as an aftercare teacher.

What did WSN/CIA do for you?
Currey Ingram Academy gave me opportunities to address my learning differences as opposed to what other schools would have done for me. As a result, I have been able to continue my education to the next level. The small classroom sizes served me well.

What has been the most interesting and exciting thing you've done thus far in your life?
The most interesting thing that I have probably done since graduating from high school would be taking many different cruises with my family and seeing new areas of the world. I have a wonderful boyfriend, Shawn, and new puppy named Blossom. I have also purchased a new car, which means I will get to go to all the Vanderbilt baseball games starting soon; and, I’m making frequent trips to the Nashville Predators hockey games!

Where did you enroll in college? Why did you choose that college?
I enrolled in Nashville State Community College here in Nashville, Tenn. I chose that college because it was close to home, and it gave me the credits I needed to get the degree I was seeking. The teachers in the Early Childhood Department at Nashville State were very helpful and kept me focused on my needs as a student.

When did you graduate and what was your major/minor?
I graduated from Nashville State Community College in December 2013, with my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development.

Where are you currently employed? What are your future plans?
I am currently employed full-time at the Gordon Jewish Community Center in the preschool department where I teach the sweetest toddlers. My future plans are to someday get married, buy my own home, raise my own family, and travel around the world.
