The Upper School Fine Arts Department provides opportunities for students to explore music, visual arts and theatre. Through fine arts, we believe that students develop new skills, deepen their passions, gain confidence and develop their creativity through exploration and performance.

ART
The Currey Ingram Visual Arts Program enables many of our students to shine and to have multiple opportunities to share their talents and to be recognized for their work. Currey Ingram art classes give students a chance to explore new media and techniques and to hone existing skills. They also learn to appreciate different art forms and styles, gain new vocabulary to discuss art, and consider multiple perspectives on issues in the art world. Each quarter, there is an additional opportunity to explore a specific medium or process with topics ranging from ceramics to darkroom photography to fiber arts.

MUSIC
The Currey Ingram Academy Upper School Music Program is designed to challenge students at all musical levels through performing, writing and recording opportunities.

PHOTOGRAPHY
The Photography class is designed to encourage students to further explore digital imaging as an extension of the photographic medium. Continuing with the mechanics of the computer and image-editing software, students will analyze the impact of technology on the development of photography and the photographic process. Frequent group and individual criticisms address the tenets of design, aesthetics and content, and also advanced technical aspects of photographic imaging. The artistic elements of processes and final products are stressed and final products are evaluated as artworks.

THEATRE
The Currey Ingram Academy Upper School Theatre Program enriches student appreciation for the art of theatre through the practical application of producing a play. Participating in theatre allows students to gain personal responsibility, and confidence while developing their acting, directing, and technical theatre skills.

VIDEO PRODUCTION
The Video Production Program is designed to expose students to a variety of employable digital film opportunities such as creating documentaries, making short films and producing news broadcasts.
