Reading & Writing Intensive Camp

Dates: June 15-July 17 (No camp June 29-July 3rd)
Half Days, Monday - Friday: 8:15am - 12pm
Program Cost: $1,875

This four-week summer program is designed to extend the school year for students in rising grades 1–8 who would benefit from targeted intervention in reading and writing skills. 

For Summer 2026, the Reading and Writing Intensive programs are combined, allowing student data to guide each camper’s individualized instructional focus. 

The program is ideal for:
  • Students who struggle with reading and/or writing
  • Learners with dyslexia, dysgraphia, or related language-based learning differences
  • Younger students who need additional practice with foundational literacy skills
Instruction is delivered in small groups and targets the essential skills that support both reading and written expression. Student data guides instructional priorities, ensuring each learner receives targeted, meaningful support.

Reading Development
  • Phonological awareness
  • Phonics
  • Sight word knowledge
  • Vocabulary development
  • Reading comprehension strategies

Writing Development
  • Grammar and sentence structure
  • Mechanics, including punctuation and capitalization
  • Spelling in both isolation and in context of authentic writing
  • Paragraph structure and organization
  • Editing and revising for clarity and accuracy
  • Handwriting and/or keyboarding fluency

Learning & Executive Skills
  • Self-regulation strategies
  • Executive function skills, including planning, organization, and task initiation
By extending learning beyond the traditional school year, this program helps students strengthen foundational skills, improve written expression, and build the confidence needed for continued academic growth.
