Director of Athletics, Grades 5-12 and Assistant Director of Residence Life Head Coach, Varsity Boys Basketball Transformational Purpose Statement: I serve to impact and inspire young men and women towards freedom, truth and vulnerability; by showing love and building strong relationships through coaching and mentoring in sport.
Years at CIA: 16 Coaching Experience: Coach Reid McFadden, from Anderson, Indiana, holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Communication Studies and minor in Christian Ethics from Belmont University. Reid became the Director of Athletics in 2022, after serving for 14 years as the Associate Athletic Director for the Mustangs. He has served as Head Coach of numerous teams at CIA including Mustang Football, Varsity Boys Basketball and Varsity Soccer. Reid is a member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), and the NFHS Coaches Association, and the Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee. He served as the President of the Middle Tennessee Athletic Conference from 2016-2017. Before that term, Reid had been a board member for four years and had served in the positions of Vice President and Sports Information Director. Prior to working at CIA, Reid coached with Sport Servants in Belize and ran a coaching clinic for soccer coaches in Ecuador. He excels in teaching fundamentals to both new and veteran athletes and was invited to serve as a camp coach at Belmont University Men's Basketball camp for several years and Indiana University Men's Basketball camp in 2013, where he led his team to a camp championship! He is a co-director of Nike Elite Hoops Basketball camps and clinics and been a coach for Pure Sweat Academy. Coach McFadden is an integral part in the planning and execution of Mustang Athletics' summer camps. In 2014, he earned his Certified Athletic Administrator license from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and it was followed up with the Certified Master Athletic Administrator license in 2018. Coach McFadden was awarded the Excellence in Coaching award from Mustang Athletics in 2018.
