Thanks to the generous support of parents, faculty, staff, grandparents, trustees, alumni, and friends, Currey Ingram Academy continues to build on its reputation of offering an exemplary educational experience for children with learning differences.
Through our donors' philanthropy, Currey Ingram continues to broaden its academic programs, enhance its enrichment opportunities, and deepen its commitment to being a community and national resource for students with learning differences. Since 1968, our supporters have understood the need our specialized program fulfills, and they, in turn, embraced the concept of a school that provides a full-scope curriculum for children with unique learning styles.

Currey Ingram Academy is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization. We do not receive federal or state funding. We do, however, receive tax-deductible donations which immediately benefit each student and faculty member by enriching all current academic and co-curricular programs, including resources, up-to-date technology, and exceptional offerings from arts to athletics.

We invite you to support our annual fundraising program and our students who call Currey Ingram their school.

Thank you for your support and commitment to our students, families, and our school.

  • What are the School's top giving priorities?

Currey Ingram Academy’s list of top priorities:
    • Financial Aid - We recognize the importance of financial accessibility for all families and are able to provide support to more than 40% of our students.
    • Capital Campaigns - The Academy continuously looks to enhance space and programs for current and future students. Reach out to the Development Office if you are interested in supporting ongoing capital campaigns.
    • Center for OutReach Education, or CORE - designed to support students who learn differently beyond the walls of Currey Ingram Academy.
    • Faculty Chairs - This program is designed to support faculty members who provide peer coaching and collaboration, share expertise and best practices to enhance instruction.
  • What does the School do with my gift?

Annual fund donations help provide technology, books, program supplies, social and emotional learning, testing and assessments, ILP preparation, and class trips, as well as supporting our need-based financial aid recipients.
  • Why does the School need an Annual Fund? Why doesn’t my tuition cover those costs?

Since our founding, our contributors have understood the need our specialized program fulfills. They have, in turn, embraced the concept of a school that provides a full-scope curriculum for children with unique learning needs. As an independent school, we do not receive federal, state, or local financial support from tax payers. We do, however, receive donations that provide funding for need-based scholarships and to make capital improvements when needed.
  • Does the School accept stock gifts?

Yes, Currey Ingram accepts publicly traded or privately-held stock gifts to our annual fund and through our planned giving program. Please contact the Development Office with questions, or email a copy of your transfer order.
  • I am only able to give a small amount to the annual fund. Is that okay?

Currey Ingram Academy appreciates gifts of any amount. Strong parent and community participation helps us acquire larger gifts from corporate sponsors and foundations.
  • May I give to the School through The United Way?

Yes, Currey Ingram is a United Way designated agency. Please note Currey Ingram’s designation number 7257 on your United Way form.
  • Why is 100% parent participation important?

One hundred percent parent participation in the annual fund is a key indicator that our parents support Currey Ingram’s culture of philanthropy. It is a community-wide call to action that creates momentum and inspires others to support the school to the best of their ability. This metric is also critically important as we seek corporate and foundation support.
  • What is the difference between fundraising by the School and fundraising by CIPO, the parents organization?

Gifts to the parent organization first support their planned activities and community building events. Once expenses are covered, then the net funds are donated back to the school. Alternatively, 100% of the funds raised through the annual fund immediately go directly to the school’s operating budget. Currey Ingram Academy asks all parents to offer a tax-deductible donation to the annual fund first.
  • When is the best time to make my gift to Currey Ingram Academy?

The best time to support the school is during our annual fund drive each year. You may send in your gift, or provide a pledge. You have through June 30th to fulfill any pledges.
  • Can my gift be anonymous?

Yes, anonymous gifts are always respected and may be directed to our Office of Development. Our online giving form also allows you to make that designation. Should you choose to mail your gift in, kindly include a note indicating your wishes.
  • I would like to make my gift in honor of someone. How is that accomplished?

You may choose to make a gift in memory of, or in honor of someone. Our online giving form allows you to make that designation. Should you choose to mail your gift in, kindly include a note indicating your wishes.
  • Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, all gifts to the school are tax deductible, to the extent permitted by law. Every donation is recognized with a thank you letter, an acknowledgement letter, and in our annual report which is printed each fall in our Magazine. Your acknowledgement letter may be used for your tax purposes.

Currey Ingram Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, tax ID: 62-1296326. Please consult your tax advisor about any specifications of your gift to the school.
  • How does an annual gift differ from capital or endowment gift?

The Currey Ingram Annual Fund supports current year operational costs. Capital campaigns and endowments are conducted periodically when significant funds are needed for school and programmatic growth. Examples include construction/renovation for facilities, or endowments to support financial aid and faculty support.
  •  What is Leadership Giving?

Leadership giving is a program where gifts over $2,500 are recognized with special acknowledgement in the annual report, with future access to special programming and events.
