This four-week camp is intended to extend the school year for the struggling reader in rising grades 1 - 5 and reduce the amount of regression that can occur for struggling learners over the summer months. Instruction will focus on the maintenance, retention, and generalization of reading-related skills.
Instruction will focus on key areas that support the reading process:
  • Phonological awareness
  • Phonics
  • Sight word knowledge
  • Comprehension strategies
  • Vocabulary
  • Written expression
Woven throughout the camp experience will be intentional building of strategies: 
  • Goal setting
  • Self-monitoring
  • Positive self-talk


Dates: June 21 - July 23, 2021 (no camp week of July 5)
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
