  • Services for Students

    All Upper School students
    - are invited to meet with the college representatives visiting our campus,
    - are welcome to use the college counseling resource room,
    - are encouraged to visit college fairs in the Nashville area,
    - are encouraged to ask questions of the college counselor at any time, and
    - receive a program of individualized attention and support throughout the college counseling process.

All freshmen, sophomores and juniors take the PACT in the fall of each year. Some students also take the PSAT in their junior year. Juniors and Seniors may take the ACT and/or SAT exam.

All juniors attend college counseling workshops planned by the Currey Ingram College Counseling Department. Each workshop is held during the school day. Students also participate in individual and family meetings with the college counselor.

Seniors attend four college counseling group workshops and continue to meet individually with the college counselor.
  • Services for Parents

All Upper School parents are encouraged to attend a series of college counseling sessions offered each year. Each session is devoted to a particular topic of interest. These sessions will often include a college representative guest speaker.

At least two individual family sessions are scheduled with the college counselor during each student’s junior year. Parents are encouraged to contact the counselor with questions and concerns at any time.
  • Reminder: Psychoeducational Evaluation

Every Upper School student at Currey Ingram Academy needs to have a current psychoeducational evaluation on file. These evaluations are used in applying for any necessary college entrance testing (ACT, PSAT, and SAT) accommodations. When registering for a college entrance examination, the college counseling office must have a signed records release form on file before applying for accommodations on behalf of a student. Colleges and universities also rely on current evaluations to determine the accommodations for which a student is eligible. It is critical that these evaluations are kept current. Click here for the ACT's guidelines for acceptable documentation.
