The 3rd/4th grade Mustang basketball team had a terrific season. Coached by Rob Jewell and Albie Vollero as well as John McLallen and Michael Weinberg and supported by a spectacular team mom, Mindy Weinberg, the team got better with each game. The team worked extremely hard on the court and employed a 2-3 defense to relentlessly attack their opponents. Simon, Jimmy, Brown and Albie applied constant pressure upfront while Josh, Sean, Pearson, Donald, Jonathan and Jack made sure their opponents never got off an easy shot in the paint. The team improved enormously over the season as each of the players grew their basketball skills and understanding of the game. The boys passion on the court was a joy for the parents and coaches to watch as well as being recognized by the league. In fact, the team was awarded the WNSL "For the Love of the Game" trophy. This honor is bestowed on a team that displays great effort, grit and heart and it was certainly fitting for our Mustangs to earn this honor. The trophy was presented to Dr. Hannah and Bo Storie at the recent success assembly.
