I am pleased to announce that Paul Wenninger, currently the interim Head of School at Marin Preparatory School in San Francisco, will be our interim Head. Paul was one of two finalists for this key transitional year position. He has visited our campus and met with some of our faculty and administrators. I am most impressed with his credentials, his managerial experience, and his enthusiasm for Currey Ingram’s mission.
Paul has an M.A. in Education/Information Science, and an Ed.S. in Education Administration, with 25 years of experience in education administration and school leadership. He has broad accreditation experience and describes himself as an inclusive leader. With skills in developing leadership throughout a school, nurturing a positive school climate, and supporting program design and development, I believe Paul will give us a continuation of strong educational leadership.
Paul is especially good at preparing a school for its new leader. This will be his fourth consecutive post as an interim Head. Paul and the Board have agreed that he will not be a candidate for the full-time Head of School position. Paul and I spoke at length about his role in the coming year. He and the Board agree that he will support and maintain our existing mission and our excellent programming and stay the course for the coming year. Paul will be an involved participant in preparing the school for its new permanent Head of School.
In this regard, please note that we will soon shift our focus to the search for the next permanent Head of School. In this phase there will be opportunities for your involvement and participation. You will hear more from me about this important process and the ways that our parents, faculty and others will be able to participate.
As your Board of Trust, we are very committed to the mission of Currey Ingram Academy, to its faculty, staff, students and alumni, and to the long-term viability and success of this wonderful school. I will continue to keep you updated on the search process, and I always welcome your feedback. Thank you for being a vital member of the Currey Ingram Academy community.
