‘Bee’ Smart at Currey Ingram Academy

Currey Ingram middle school beekeepers under the direction of middle science teacher Dganit Eldar harvested 46 jars of honey from the school’s hives. The “Green and Liquid Gold” honey was sold at the Back to School Night This week, students were recognized by the Nashville Area Beekeepers Association for their creativity in the Second Annual Hive Decorating Contest. Each advisory decorated a Beehive Box an the top 10 were submitted to the contest. Currey Ingram advisory winners are listed below and their boxes are on display at the Tennessee State Fair:
  • Woodley/Bowlds advisory won first place at the K-7 student division 
  • Anderson/Eldar advisory won first place at the 8-12 student division
  • Dent /Reid advisory won second place at the 8-12 student division
  • Garmer/Mitchell won fourth place  at the 8-12 division
