Understanding Tweens & Teens

The Annette Eskind Institute of Learning will host “Understanding Tween and Teen Behavior” from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on January 9 on the Currey Ingram Academy campus, 6544 Murray Lane, Brentwood.  This free session will examine the neurological, chemical/hormonal, developmental, psychological, and societal factors that influence teen behavior and will differentiate between typical behavior and clinical symptoms. Caitlin Rissler is a pediatric nurse practitioner who specializes in developmental and behavioral medicine. She runs Music City Peds, which is housed within Southeast Psych Nashville in the Maryland Farms area. Caitlin is an expert in autism spectrum disorders/Asperger’s, ADHD, learning concerns, behavioral issues, and some mental health concerns such as anxiety, OCD, or depression. Caitlin performs diagnostic evaluations or initial consults and provides follow up care, including medication management for the above concerns. 

Danielle Mizell is a pediatric psychologist who specializes in treating children and teens with chronic pain and medical conditions.  Dr. Mizell received her doctorate from Spalding University and trained in multiple children hospitals, including the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and Cleveland Clinic Children’s.  Dr. Mizell provides evidenced-based therapy and psychoeducational assessments.
