Mustang Athletics Awards Celebrate Student-Athletes' Successes

On Tuesday night, Mustang Athletics celebrated 138 student-athletes from grades 5-12 at their annual All-Sport Award Celebration. Throughout the evening, student-athletes were recognized for their participation in sports from all three sport seasons. During the awards celebration, the Middle School and Varsity Tennis teams were recognized for their conference championship seasons, and were presented with championship shirts.
Part of the evening included a keynote address from author Andrew Maraniss.  Mr. Maraniss spoke to student-athletes and parents about his book, Strong Inside. Andrew's addressed kindness, honesty, and civil rights in sports through the story of Perry Wallace, the first African-American to play basketball in the Southeastern Conference.
The night was once again a huge success of celebrating the achievements of the many who contributed their best efforts throughout the school year.
