Students Learn Glass Blowing

Thanks to a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, glass artist Michael Allison has been teaching a glass blowing/glassmaking workshop for Currey Ingram Academy Upper School students this week.
His workshop is part of the school’s annual Odyssey, a three-day exploration of hands-on classes with community and faculty instructors. Allison, who is known for his public art sculptures, including "Lotus" in Dragon Park, is using Ryan Gothrup’s Mobile Glass Studio on campus.

Students made glass paperweights by twisting the glass and glass vases by blowing the glass.
