The Lady Mustangs had a great 2011-2012 season, which included an impressive five game win streak before going into the conference tournament. Although the team lost to Daniel 1 in the first round of the tournament, the girls played as hard and with more heart and effort than ever before.

After starting slow, while integrating a handful of new players to the game, the team started to come together towards the end of the first semester. The second semester saw the team dive for loose balls, knock down tough shots and lock down on defense. The Lady Mustangs rallied behind each other to go on a hot streak to end the regular season. The trio of tall trees in the middle, Raquel Raines, Tiffany Beech and Savana Floyd anchored the team on both ends of the floor. Freshman Ellen Mazzone was the team’s floor general and was the engine that made the offense run. Mazzone also received All-Conference honors for her effort. Mitchell Bonner, Morgan Clark and Kaitlyn Bean provided sparks on the perimeter. Hannah Cullum, Mimi Hanai and Allison Hogue were relentless with their effort when they entered for the Lady Mustangs.
The team ended the season with a record of 7 losses and 10 wins, but walked away with a better understanding of what it means to want something and work to get it. This all while developing a greater belief in themselves and each other that it was possible to win and be successful. It was a pleasure to watch the girls grow and mature exponentially.
