Currey Ingram Academy is embarking on a transformative journey with the launch of IDEAs for the Future: The Campaign for Currey Ingram Academy.

This bold venture is dedicated to constructing a cutting-edge Innovation, Design, Exploration, and Application (IDEA) Center. This isn’t just a campaign; it’s a declaration of the school’s commitment to revolutionize education. Imagine a space where innovation knows no bounds, where creativity intertwines seamlessly with technology, and where every student’s potential is unleashed. The IDEA Center is not merely a building—it’s a catalyst for greatness.

Construction will begin on phase one in June 2024. Phase one will include site work for both phases. Each phase's priorities are outlined below.

Phase One:

  • Learning Hubs

    The classroom space in the IDEA Center will feature Division Learning Hubs. Each learning hub will be anchored by a circular classroom intentionally designed to promote collaboration and facilitate problem-based learning experiences. Surrounding each collaborative classroom will be a developmentally appropriate:

    • Design Lab
    • MakerSpace
    • Robotics Lab
    • Artificial Intelligence/Virtual Reality space 

  • Audio Visual Space

    There will be a designated Audio-Visual space adjacent to the Upper School Division Hub. This space will be primarily used by Upper School students in Cinematography, Broadcasting, and Performing Arts classes and clubs, but also available to all students via class projects, after school activities, and summer programming.  The Audio-Visual space brings the amenities of a Nashville recording studio to campus and will include:

    • Soundproof video recording room and video production suite
    • Soundproof audio recording room and audio production suite 

    Also included will be a:
    • Photography studio with dark room

Phase Two:

  • Performing Arts Auditorium

    A state-of-the-art, 500-seat auditorium will provide students—both onstage and backstage—the space they need to perform, design their productions, and showcase their talents. The auditorium will also allow our entire Currey Ingram community to gather for school assemblies, convocations, ceremonies, theatre productions, and major events. The auditorium will include a:

    • Proscenium stage with full wing space, curtains, and dressing rooms
    • Set design/woodworking space
    • Prop design studio
    • Costume design studio
    • Tech booth for sound, lighting and video
    • Large-scale paint studio

    We also look forward to opening the auditorium to serve the needs of our community beyond Currey Ingram Academy!
